On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Financial Crime Advisory Manager - Life Insurance for an initial 9-month contract based in London or Edinburgh. It is a hybrid model.

Purpose of the role:
This is a management role with day-to-day responsibility for executing activities to enable implementation of the group financial crime risk management framework within the UK Life business.

What you'll do:

• Risk oversight & challenge: Review and challenge Life EWRA, 1LoD risk assessments, and controls, ensuring actions are tracked and effectively implemented.
• Financial crime governance: Provide independent 2LoD oversight on risk decisioning across Life Client, IFA, and third-party activities.
• Exemptions & breaches management: Track, analyse, and manage exemptions, waivers, breaches, and dispensations, including escalation and mitigation planning.
• Regulatory reporting: Produce MLRO reports, REP-CRIM submissions, and senior management MI in line with financial crime governance frameworks.
• Advisory & compliance support: Provide guidance to 1LoD teams on financial crime policies, UK regulations, and entity registration requirements (e.g., Annex I).
• Controls, training & audit support: Oversee GRC framework adoption (MetricStream), track training completion, and implement actions from audit/assurance findings within the scope of your role or team as required from time to time.

The skills you'll need:

• Established experience within financial crime and being able to demonstrate deep understanding of the financial crime risks inherent in the insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK financial crime laws and regulations, including AML, Sanctions, ABC and fraud prevention, preferably including in the context of above-mentioned sector.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with senior stakeholders and communicate and explain risk decisions.
