Our client is a leading alternative asset manager specialising in catastrophe, specialty, and climate‑related insurance‑linked securities (ILS). They are looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join their London Operations team. The role supports portfolio management, risk, and capital teams, with responsibility for core finance, valuation, and reporting activities. You'll work closely with internal teams, fund administrators, fronting partners, and auditors, and play a hands‑on role in a small, fast‑moving environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the day-to-day finance and operational processes of the firm. This extends to all areas of recording, monitoring, and accounting for the company's portfolios from deal capture to financial reporting and forecasting
2. Support loss valuation and claims management processes
3. Work with the company's valuation, underwriting, and research teams to prepare and present materials to the valuation committee
4. Work with the company's fronting partners and fund administrator to confirm accurate and timely transactions and investor reporting
5. Contribute to our funds' annual audit and tax processes
6. Support key internal and external reporting commitments to investors, counterparties, regulators and internal compliance
7. Collaborate with our technology group to build more effective workflows and tools

Skills Required:

1. Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
2. 4+ years' experience in hedge fund or investment accounting
3. Experience of assessing and explaining fund performance is preferred
4. Experience with reviewing and valuing reinsurance contracts is preferred
5. Strong communication and data analysis skills
6. Skilled at streamlining operational processes
7. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
8. Curiosity, critical thinking, and a collaborative mindset
