Description
Job Description1. Legal Advisory & Business Partnering
Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on business operations, commercial strategy, and regulatory developments.
Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, supply, licensing, R&D collaboration, manufacturing, procurement, and digital/technology contracts.
Support new product launches, localization projects, clinical-related collaborations, and cross-border transactions.
Advise on marketing, promotion, advertising, and digital activities to ensure compliance with life science regulatory requirements.
Oversee corporate governance, legal entity management, and board-related matters.
2. Compliance Management
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's compliance framework in China.
Oversee compliance programs covering anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABAC), anti-trust/competition, data privacy, export control, EHS compliance, and third-party risk management.
Localize global compliance policies and ensure effective rollout, training, and monitoring.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement preventive controls.
Serve as the primary contact for internal and external compliance audits.
3. Investigations & Ethics
Lead and manage internal investigations related to misconduct, fraud, bribery, conflict of interest, false reimbursement, harassment, and other ethics issues.
Coordinate with global investigation teams and ensure proper documentation, reporting, and remediation actions.
Provide guidance to business leaders on investigation outcomes and risk mitigation.
4. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Manage all litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings, including commercial disputes, labor disputes, product liability, and IP enforcement.
Work closely with external counsel to develop litigation strategies and control legal risks.
Support crisis management and government inquiries when necessary.
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and develop the legal & compliance team, fostering a high-performance and business-partnering culture.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and global counterparts.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with commercial, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, HR, finance, and regulatory teams.
Job Requirements
Bachelor or Master of Law from a reputable university; PRC Bar qualification required.
10+ years of legal and compliance experience in the life science, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or related regulated industries.
Strong experience in compliance program management, internal investigations, and litigation handling.
Solid understanding of China regulatory landscape (NMPA, anti-trust, data privacy, advertising, export control, etc.).
Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and influence decision-making.
Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.
Leadership experience managing legal or compliance teams preferred.
