Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive New Business Review Officer to join our New Business team. This role is based in Jersey, reporting to the Head of New Business in the Bahamas. This role is pivotal in supporting the establishment of new business relationships, ensuring all documentation and due diligence requirements are met, and facilitating a seamless handover to our Fiduciary team for ongoing management in Jersey, Bahamas and Singapore. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a fantastic and supportive team, a growing business, and to contribute to the design and shaping of client onboarding procedures.Job Responsibilities:
- Review and assessment of all new business opportunities to ensure alignment with the firm's new business parameters.
- Responsible for the end-to-end onboarding of each opportunity.
- Prepare client onboarding documentation and form part of a center of excellence for delivering a seamless client onboarding experience, in close collaboration with our Wealth Advisory partners.
- Ensure receipt and review of all critical documents, due diligence information, and mandatory KYC to progress new business. Review and assess incoming KYC documentation to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper systematic setup of client and structures. Updating systems with records of KYC received as part of onboarding and raising exceptions where appropriate. Undertake screening of clients and their connected parties as a part of client take on and other trigger events.
- Review trust and corporate documents (Short-Form Trusts, Model Trusts, Purpose Trusts, Private Trust Companies, Private Investment Companies) for accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with external legal counsel regarding trust structures to ensure validity and enforceability under the appropriate law.
- Oversee the setup and incorporation of new corporate entities.
- Coordinate settlement of legal invoices with Trust Teams.
- Prepare and complete New Business Documentation Review Checklists.
- Officially hand over new business files to Trust Officers/Analysts for ongoing management.
- Maintain and update the new business pipeline.
- Assist with training new Wealth Advisors on processes, procedures, forms, and templates.
- Liaise with Fiduciary and Finance teams on new business reporting.
- Assist in preparing content for New Business Exception Committee, Trust and Operating Risk Committee, Audit Committee and Board Meetings.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in law, compliance, trust administration, or financial services (e.g., STEP, CAMS) are an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an operational compliance or administrative role within a regulated financial or professional services environment. Exposure to fiduciary sector and operational functions within a fiduciary business would also be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of Jersey legislation and AML/CFT regulations, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area.
- Detailed experience with trust and corporate structures.
- Experience liaising with legal counsel and reviewing legal documents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
