Description

A mid-market Private Equity firm based in London is seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join the finance team on a 6-month contract. This is an urgent cover role to support the team during a busy reporting period, with several team members seconded to other projects. The client will only consider those immediate or on short notice periods.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable taking ownership of core fund accounting responsibilities from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounts
• NAV calculations and supporting schedules
• Processing and review of capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
• Management and performance fee calculations
• Oversight of investment activity accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and valuations
• Support with year-end audits and liaising with external auditors
• Assist with investor reporting and ad-hoc financial queries
• Ensure compliance with fund documentation, accounting standards, and internal controls
• Provide hands-on support to ensure reporting deadlines are met

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Around 5 years' experience in Private Equity fund accounting
• Strong technical understanding of PE fund structures and reporting
• Proven experience producing NAVs and fund financial statements
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Able to step into a role quickly with minimal handover.

Desirable

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience gained within a PE fund, fund services provider, or fund administrator
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with fund accounting systems
