Technical Accountant

Location: NYC, Chicago, or Remote

Job Type: In Office or Remote

Salary: $120,000-185,000/year

Client/Job Summary:

Our client is a fast-growing, innovative fintech company looking for a technical accountant to support their team on complex accounting matters and emerging business initiatives. This role involves partnering across teams on high-impact projects, ensuring technical accuracy, and influencing key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting evaluations for new and emerging business initiatives.
• Develop accurate technical memos and documentation.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards, ensuring consistent application across the business.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting AND active CPA (or equivalent)
• 5+ YOE in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or technical accounting roles.
• Experience in fintech, clearing firms, broker dealers, crypto, or high-growth environments a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP, cross-functional collaboration, analytical skills, and ability to interpret and apply evolving regulations.
