Full Job Description

The role holder will contribute to defined service delivery by acting as part of our award-winning Claims and Underwriting teams, supporting Ecclesiastical’s “right first time” approach to customer service. This is a multi-trained / experience rotational role which will begin by supporting the Underwriting Team with retention and the opportunity to develop further underwriting knowledge by supporting key activities. As part of the Claims team, the candidate will proactively support customer facing operations delivering exceptional customer service and claims management.

Key accountabilities

  • Delivery of exceptional customer experience
  • Manage claims and underwriting within your authority whilst working in line with technical handling guides
  • Plan, prioritise and manage own work to achieve agreed objectives and meet SLAs to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Identify, take ownership of and act upon complaints and resolve in line with company policy
  • Take ownership of and act on individual audit results and action plans within agreed deadlines to improve own performance
  • Identify fraud by using KIIs and discuss with Fraud champions
  • Understand and operate within regulatory framework and identify and escalate any risks to the business
  • Use the appropriate method of communication to support our right first time approach in order to maintain successful Internal and External relationships
  • Actively expand personal and technical knowledge both informally (networking internally and externally, internet, industry press) and formally (in-house training, CII, CPD).

  • Feedback from team leader and wider management team where appropriate
  • Audit results consistently in line with expectations
  • Delivery standard to be within pre agreed SLA’s
  • Achievement of agreed personal objectives
  • Demonstration of improvement against personal development plans in line with agreed annual personal objectives
  • Positive response to, and active engagement with coaching

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Cert CII or commitment to achieve within an agreed timescale
  • Experience of managing Claims and/or Underwriting (desirable)
  • Appropriate IT skills
