The JuniorVessel Operator is responsible for the end-to-end post-fixture freight execution process, from pre-fixture planning through to voyage completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for Owners, Charterers, Masters, Agents, and other stakeholders involved in the voyage lifecycle.You will oversee all operational aspects of assigned vessels, proactively identifying and resolving issues with a strong customer service mindset. The role also contributes to voyage P&L accuracy, ensuring timely and correct inputs for payments to Owners and receivables from Charterers.This is a facilitative and collaborative role, requiring close coordination across internal functions and active knowledge-sharing on onboard technical specifics, port logistics, and system/process improvements.
Key Accountabilities
Manage all voyage-related communications and documentation.
Ensure accurate and timely freight execution, including laytime, demurrage, and despatch.
Monitor vessel performance and proactively address operational challenges.
Maintain accurate voyage P&L and support financial reconciliation.
Liaise with internal teams (trading, finance, legal) and external stakeholders.
Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
Share operational insights and best practices across the global execution team.
Qualifications
University degree in Shipping / Marine.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
2-4 years of shipping industry experience (onboard, brokerage, Chartering or operations).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
Computer literate and adaptable to new systems.
