
Description
Job Purpose:
Assist with all areas of compliance for the Financial and Support Services, including testing of the compliance/internal controls, expanding of compliance monitoring programs and reviewing business processes and procedures for identification of risks, key controls and improvement opportunities. Prepare additional analyses, reports and metrics on an as-needed basis. Support any other compliance related projects for business units.
Primary Functions:
- Perform routine and ad-hoc compliance testing and monitoring activities;
- Analyze data related to testing and monitoring to identify patterns and trends and communicate potential risks or compliance issues to management;
- Conduct follow-up and testing on previously identified compliance issues to validate issues are adequately resolved;
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to business units on any findings and testing results;
- Review and document business processes and procedures to identify and assess risks, controls, efficiencies, and compliance opportunities;
- Develop, modify and expand compliance testing and monitoring programs to cover new business activities, risks and controls;
- Prepare additional analyses, operational reports and key metrics for business units on an as-needed basis;
- Assist in reviewing other team members work and provide guidance and feedback as applicable;
- Provide compliance related guidance and project support to various business units;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Technical Requirements:
- Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
- Compliance, operational/financial risks, and internal control frameworks;
- Fraud detection and prevention;
- Basic IT security and application controls;
- Software and applications for data analysis, reporting and visualization;
- OUC applications or similar software (i.e., Visio, EnterpriseOne, Documentum, Tungsten, Qlik, Hubble);
- Organizational and departmental policies, practices, and procedures;
- Government and industry related guidelines, rules, requirements;
- Ability to analyze and make decisions using available data;
- Understand patterns, trends and outliers in large data sets;
- Ability to grasp complex processes quickly and identify risks and compensating controls;
- Demonstrate good judgment and have excellent attention to detail;
- Capable of working independently as well as within a team environment;
- Results oriented, a problem solver, critical thinker, and efficient;
- Excellent oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy;
- Must have strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills (such as IF statements, VLOOKUP function, Pivot Table and Pivot Chart).
Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field of study from an accredited college or university;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Financial Compliance, Operational Risk, Audit or related field.
Physical Requirements:
This job consists of sitting, speaking, hearing, reading, typing, writing, and detailed inspection. This job may consist of repetitive motions, reaching overhead, standing, bending/stooping, and walking, and lift up to twenty (20) lbs.
