POSITION SUMMARY:
As Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region’s Chief Financial Officer, you will become a key partner in developing, monitoring, governing, and evaluating the overall corporate strategy, planning, and analysis with a focus on bottom line financial and operating performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management
- Manage the organization’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with all appropriate regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to key stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting.
- Manage bidding, proposals, recommendations, and contracts for all third party subcontractors for the organization, excluding construction subcontractors.
- Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.
- Partner with the senior leadership team on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team based on financial analysis and projections cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Administer all operational risk management activities of the organization, including but not limited to maintaining internal control systems, ensuring adequate insurance coverage, managing fraud-mitigation protocols, monitoring compliance with Habitat for Humanity International standards.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial and grant-related functions. This includes compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and statutory grant requirements.
Leadership
- Direct the Finance team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training.
- Engage other members of the senior leadership team to facilitate cross-department collaboration that ensures that all financial solutions positively support the organization’s evolving strategy, operational delivery, and data collection needs.
- Establish and develop relationships with the Board of Directors, Committee members, Habitat for Humanity affiliate personnel, external partners and other stakeholders.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent, with 7-10 years of related experience; non-profit experience preferred.
- CPA
- Exhibits strong leadership, management, and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving organizational goals.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear, concise, and impactful interactions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities and representational skills, effectively interpret financial data and present insights to stakeholders.
- Make sound judgements, assume responsibility, and work independently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective decision-making and problem solving.
- Establish priorities and manage tasks with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring timely and professional completion of all responsibilities.
- Expertly manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills which must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with a broad array of backgrounds.
- Commitment to organization’s mission and values, fostering a values-driven work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office projects, QuickBooks Online and financial applications. Familiarity with CRM systems.
